Many of us have no idea what it"s like to be poor. We have enough for ourselves and family! By collaborating with helping hands International, you help us abate the problems being faced by many all around the world, especially in Africa.
The World Bank's March 2026 Global Poverty Update reveals that 847 million people still live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than $2.15 per day. This figure represents a slight decline from the previous year, but the geographic concentration of extreme poverty remains stark, with Sub-Saharan Africa accounting for roughly 80% of the world's extreme poor.
